I recently saw a similar idea in a comment, and I have my own theory about Usopp’s long-anticipated Devil Fruit and how he might acquire it in Elbaf. As an Usopp fan, I know this might just be wishful thinking, but I hope some of it comes true as we approach the Elbaf arc.
Firstly, Loki is expected to be a major antagonist in Elbaf. Known as the god of mischief and trickery in Norse mythology, it’s likely he’ll have similar traits in One Piece.
Which other character in One Piece embodies mischief and trickery? Usopp.
This theory hinges on two key points:
- Loki has trickery-related abilities linked to a Devil Fruit.
- Oda decides to give Usopp significant character development in Elbaf.
If both are true, I propose that Usopp (and probably Luffy) will defeat Loki, leading to Loki’s death. His Devil Fruit could then manifest near his defeat, either on Elbaf or on the Sunny in Nami’s orchard. This would also deepen our understanding of how Devil Fruits appear in the One Piece world.
A trickery-based Devil Fruit would be an ideal power-up for Usopp, enhancing his sniping skills without boosting his raw strength. It would allow him to leverage his existing talent for lies.
Moreover, this ability could mirror Luffy’s Gear 5, with Usopp’s only limitation being his imagination.
