Why didn’t the 5 Elders go after Roger like they did with Luffy?
In the recent episodes, we saw the 5 Elders attack Luffy because they saw him as a huge threat. But why didn’t they target Roger, the previous King of the Pirates, with the same effort?
Maybe it’s because they knew something about the treasure on Laugh Tale that Roger didn’t. They might have thought that even if Roger found the One Piece, it wouldn’t really matter because only “Joy Boy” could use it. They also might not have believed Roger would actually reach Laugh Tale, since no one had done it in centuries.
Another reason could be that they didn’t expect Roger to start a revolution. They might not have seen him as someone who would inspire others to become pirates and challenge the world, which is exactly what ended up happening.
Luffy, on the other hand, seems to be a much bigger threat in their eyes, which is why they’re going after him so aggressively.
